I was thinking it could a fun date night with the hubs but wasn’t sure if he’d be turned away. The one I want to do is a similar wood project. I decided to paint it a summery yellow color. Right now it’s on the back deck with flowers on it. Here are the Mary and me with our unpainted tables.
The store holds a variety of different workshops each month in stores nationwide. What’s great about the store is that it also offers kid’s workshops too. Do-It-Herself workshops are designed for women and teach a range of home improvement projects. Home Depot holds workshops that cater to men, women and children.
Free Home Depot Kids Workshops in 2019
Pretty sure there is two workshops in November. I saw a flyer there last month but didn’t grab it but I distinctly remember thinking, oh there is two in one of the months. I was told last sat (3/7) workshops were cancelled due to the Coronavirus. They gave us a kit and pin to assemble at home. Even if you cannot make it to the Free Kids’ Workshops, HomeDepot.com offers great kids’ activities videos and how-to’s right on their website.

You get a kit and you work of pellets of plywood. It ia self paced and parental help is necessary. So any age can do it if mom/dad has patience. You will need to pre-register for these events and sometimes they fill up so register as early as possible. See all the details and register on their website.
Macys Sale This Weekend: December 2022
Children must be present at the store to participate in the workshop and receive the kit, apron, and pin. The first Saturday of every month, from 9 a.m. To noon, kids and their parents can attend free workshops at Home Depot stores across the country.

And, since the Lowe’s kid’s workshop is now closed, this is a really great alternative. If you’re looking for a fun, free activity to do with your kids, then this is a great option, as it is educational too. The retailer holds a plethora of classes in a number of locations across the country, so you’re sure to find a class near you. The class was led by two women who demonstrated how to use the power tools. Yep, there were lots of power tools and attendees get to use them!
Home Depot Workshop: Why You Should Register for the Free Kids (& Adults) DIY Classes
The classes are designed for all ages and experience levels. So, whether you want to repaint your bedroom or build something for the garden, you can learn how to do it for free at a one of the store’s workshops. If you’re looking for a fun girls’ night out, the Home Depot Do-It-Herself workshops are a fun option!
Each child receives an apron, an apron pin and a certificate of achievement for completing their project. They also leave the store with the fruit of their labor – such as a fire rescue boat or window bird feeder – and a sense of accomplishment. The Home Depot Kids Workshops are building classes that teach kids hands-on construction skills – and they're absolutely free.
You used to be able to register for the Home Depot Free kids workshops in advance, but that does not guarantee kits will be available once you arrive. The Home Depot free kids workshops have been known to run out of supplies…so while you don’t need to make reservations for the workshops, you can register here. The Home Depot moved all workshop activities to virtual offerings in 2020 for safety reasons due to the Covid pandemic. Kids Workshops returned to stores for in-person participation this summer. Beginning Saturday, May 7th, The Home Depot’s Kids Workshops will return to in-store programming in U.S. stores.

In 1997, the Kids Workshops program launched in our stores across the U.S. and Canada. What started as a grassroots effort by a few stores quickly became an institution, with many stores seeing hundreds of workshop attendees each month. Twenty-five years later, the program is going strong. The Kids Workshop program will take place in U.S.
Home Depot is offering a free kids workshop on Saturday, September 7 and you and your child can build and decorate a scarecrow planter. The kids can sand, glue, and paint pieces of wood to create this planter. I would so love it if you could make these workshops the first and second saturday of the month. I work every other weekend, so I can only get my grandkids there on some months and not others.

She authored the best-selling book, "Raising Uncommon Kids" and is known as the "Frugal Mom" on Nashville's top-rated talk show. She is proud to call Nashville home with her two teenaged children (a daughter & son) who are 19 months apart. Things have definitely changed with the current state of our world. Home Depot also offers free live-streaming and digital workshops for you to enjoy without leaving your home.
TheHome Depotfree Kids workshops are such a big hit, not only in our family, but for everyone looking to get the kids out for some hands-on, free fun! These workshops typically occur on the first Saturday of every month from 9a-12p. I’m a home depot employee who is a member of the kids workshop every month.
After the children complete the project, they are invited to bring it back up to the check-in desk. Here they receive a certificate of achievement and a commemorative pin to put on their apron. We received a lot of encouragement and excitement from the staff before we left. I looked on their website and it looks like in many areas they have discontinued the kids workshops.
